At Vinalearn, we believe that education should be as vibrant and diverse as the world around us. Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to partner with the students of Kim Dong Primary School for a spectacular cultural event: "Colors of Vietnamese Ethnicities."
Our goal was simple but profound—to bring the rich, storied traditions of Vietnam’s ethnic minorities to life through hands-on experiences, laughter, and play.
A Journey Beyond the Classroom
The school grounds were transformed into a living museum of culture. From the intricate patterns of traditional costumes to the unique stories behind every custom, the students didn't just learn about diversity—they felt it.
Through this "vibrant cultural journey," we aimed to foster a deeper connection between the younger generation and the indigenous roots of Vietnam.

Learning Through Play: The Folk Game Stations
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the Vinalearn Folk Game Stations. We believe that "real experiences lead to meaningful learning," and there’s no better way to understand a culture than by playing its games!
Game | Originating Ethnic Group(s) | The Experience |
Sacred Ball Toss (Ném Còn) | Thai, Tay, Muong | A test of precision and grace, symbolizing luck and prosperity. |
Bridge Rice Carry (Gánh Lúa Qua Cầu) | Khmer | Celebrating the harvest and the resilience of the Mekong Delta people. |
Dragon Guards Eggs (Rồng Ấp Trứng) | H'Mong | A high-energy game of strategy and protection from the northern highlands. |
Blind Drum (Bịt Mắt Đánh Trống) | Central Highlands Groups | A rhythmic challenge requiring focus and community cheering. |
Why It Matters
In an increasingly globalized world, honoring our unique identities is more important than ever. By exploring these traditions, Kim Dong students were able to:
Discover the beauty of different customs.
Explore the history of their fellow citizens.
Celebrate the diversity that makes Vietnam extraordinary.
Stay Tuned for More!
The smiles on the students' faces and the energy at each station reminded us why we do what we do. When we learn more and feel deeper, we ultimately connect better with one another.
We want to extend a huge thank you to the teachers, students, and staff at Kim Dong Primary for making this event so "colorful."
